Medicine Management System

I once asked an aged uncle of mine, how come he got by without taking any medicines in his life. He smirked and told me his secret; he had a bad memory so he simply kneaded all his pills into the roti and ate it! Ok, the joke may be silly but the situation is real, forgetting to take your pills on time is a common problem amongst many elderly people. Hence the Medicine Management System for the Elderly makes perfect sense, it makes them independent. The system is interactive and the electronic pill boxes are super neat!

Features:

* Use touch screen as the interface of medicine query system to simplify process.
* Scan the bar code to acquire the name and information of medicines.
* Prompt the elders to take medicine regularly by voice and vibration.
* Doctors can transmit the information of medical treatment to the electronic pill-box. Patients can read the information from their personal medicine system at home.
* The electronic pill-box can save the essential information of personal health and medicine, and provide the information for emergency.
* For Memory Aid , the electronic pill-box can connects to HIS to download the information of medical treatment.
* For the best curative effect of medicine, the elders can carry the portable electronic pill-box and set the time for reminding to take medicine while going out.
* For Medicine Safety, the elders can obtain information, notice, and time for the medicine by scanning bar code or QR code on the medicine bag.
* For self-care at home, the host system includes the functions of reminding to take medicine and for querying medicine database to understand the medicine better.

Oral Fixation

When you read facts like there are about 10,000,000 bacteria living on a single toothbrush and toothbrushes must be kept at least 6 feet (two meters) away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush; you wanna re-think your oral hygiene options. Sanitizing toothbrushes is a way, and something like the Ultra Violet Sterilized Toothbrush System fits in. It consists of a UV base that sterilizes the brush once placed in the housing.

The base is an expandable one that can host 2-4 UV pods (for each brush) and plugs into the shaver socket commonly found in bathrooms. The brushes have a color coded band and the heads are replaceable, so discard them and use a fresh one after every few months.

Here are some random Toothbrush facts that you may/may not have known:

* Initially the bristles were actually the stiff, coarse hairs taken from the back of a hog’s neck was attached to handles made of bone or bamboo.
* Boar bristles were used until 1938, when nylon bristles were introduced by Dupont de Nemours.
* One of the first electric toothbrushes to hit the American market was in 1960.
* Manual toothbrushes become worn out after about 3 months and are not as effective as they once were.

Be Flexible With Diabetes

Gluos is a non-invasive blood sugar meter with a detachable sensor for more flexibility. As a diabetic you really want to measure fast, easy and unobstrusively. The small device measures sugar levels using a display with an LED scale between a low result and a high result in different colors. Low sugar levels are shown in red. A normal level appears in white white and a high level goes orange. It stores the result and transfers it via bluetooth to a mobile phone and computer so your doctor has instant access.

The flexibility comes in how you measure your levels. A detachable sensor clips to your earlobe and gives you auditory feedback when your levels get to high. The same info gets transfered to your phone and computer. If your blood chemistry gets out of hand, a call can be made via your mobile to alert your doctor.

Gluco(M) Wristband Monitors Your Blood Glucose Levels

With the widespread of diabetics among almost all range of people around, medical equipment manufacturers are introducing various products everyday. The Gluco(M) Wristband is a concept medical device that offers three major functions to diabetics: non-invasive and instant glucose reading, storing previous readings history with averages, and an extremely useful insulin chamber with loaded syringe cartridge. This innovative product is featured with ‘Reverse Iontophoresis’ technology and collects glucose samples from body fluids by using an electric current flowing throughout the sensors. The readings are shown on the back-lit LED display and different required buttons for operating this device are placed at the edge of this device.

Text from Eli :
The Gluco(M) is a medical concept that provides diabetics with three functions: instant and non-invasive glucose readings, history of previous readings with averages, and an insulin chamber with a loaded syringe cartridge for injections.

Diabetics must monitor their own blood glucose levels times a day, to determine how far above or below normal their glucose is and to determine how much insulin(s) they may need. This is usually done by placing a drop of blood from a skin prick onto a glucose strip and then inserting the strip into a glucose meter, a small machine that provides a digital readout of the blood glucose level.

The Gluco(M) uses a technology known as “reverse iontophoresis.” By using an electric current running throughout the sensors, it collects glucose samples from fluids in the body. The device is then able to read the sample and give a reading. With this technology, diabetics can keep a much closer watch on their glucose levels and avoid the problems that may occurs from having levels too high or low. The Gluco(M) enables users with the convenience of checking blood-sugar levels more frequently throughout the day, thus yielding for better control of glucose in the blood stream.
