HTC Touch Pro2
Overview
Business success depends on human interaction. You can often get more done with a quick phone call or a face to face meeting than you can in strings of emails. So why do all business phones seem to ignore the importance of calls? The Touch Pro2 treats your calls with as much care and attention as your messages.
Speak Out When It Matters
Sometimes your opinion needs to be read, but sometimes it demands to be heard. The Touch Pro2 is equipped with a spacious keyboard that makes it breeze to get your message out. But when written word is not enough, it only takes one touch to respond to an email with the urgency of a phone call.
Get all the key stakeholders involved. If they were in on the email, then simply tap next to their image icon to get them in on the call. The HTC Touch Pro2 helps make it easy to share your ideas with all the people that matter.
Straight Talk™ - Speakerphone Innovation
Nothing ruins a conference call faster than not being able to hear what is said, or make yourself heard. The HTC Touch Pro2, featuring Straight Talk™ technology, puts crystal-clear sound quality and voice reception at the core of its design. In fact, it is a palm-size professional conference phone with a loudspeaker and dedicated noise-cancelling microphone that delivers superior quality conference calls.
Conference Calls … Made Easy
Before today, the simple task of multi-party calling required the nimblest of maneuvering around your phone menus. Now, HTC Touch Pro2 introduces a new worry-free interface that makes multi-party calling as easy as tapping on your contacts.
That’s not all, even if you are traveling and need to join a conference bridge back in the home office … the Touch Pro2 will ensure that you connect without delay. LG Synthesis Belongs On Your Keychain
Another beautifully rendered phone concept from our favorite 16 year old designer, Andrew Seunghyun Kim, his LG Synthesis concept presents a simple touchscreen based smart phone. While subverted in this post’s title, the phone’s hole is actually intended as a low-tech viewfinder and docking port on its tree-like recharging station. Beyond that, it’s solar powered headset and Kate Moss-like form factor make this the most refined thing to have come out of any 16-year-old I know.

For The Blind Who Don’t Know Braille
You are lucky my friend that you can read this post. Being sight-impaired is not a situation you want to be in. It gets even more complicated if you are blind and can’t even read Braille. Luckily there is some though process being invested in the Braille Interpreter, a single-finger glove that features a tactile sensor, a Bluetooth headphone and interpreting software.
The index finger portion of the glove hosts the said tactile sensor. Skim it over the Braille surface and it sends a feed to the main device housed on the back of the glove. Over here the feeds are interpreted and beamed to the headphone via Bluetooth as voice data.
Skim-Interpret-Hear Voice; nifty enough solution for those who can’t cope with Braille.

A Halo of Light to Save You
As the flames get hotter you stumble in panic looking for your way out of the maze of hallways that seem so familiar yet alien at the moment. Smoke stings your eyes as you desperately search for any signs of escape. Follow the Halo, it will guide you.
This may seem like some scene in a movie but in reality this could happen to any of us. In times of crisis, we lose our ability to think coherently and often the simplest task seems daunting.
Halo was designed to aid people in times of crisis such as blackouts and fires directing them to the fastest possible exit route. By using LED lights, halos are cast upon the floor indicating the direction in which the exit is located. This is especially useful in smoke laden fires since people are advised to stick close to the floor. The light also pulsates in the direction of the exit providing a secondary indication upon which direction to head.

Fantasy Comes Alive With The JetBike
We don’t live in Utopia, traffic snarls and packed commutes are the stark realities that we live with. A lucky few get to satisfy their urge of zipping down empty streets, past peak hours. Those not so lucky, vent their fury by tinkering with their vehicles and displaying their prowess in arenas. Others like Norio slip into the fantasy world and conspire to ride/glide on a Jet Powered Bike!
“Envisioning a jet powered flying bike powered by an alternative method of propulsion!”
Does that sound outrageous to you? Maybe for the moment it is, but I won’t grudge Norio for fantasizing such a beauty. After all he rides a motorcycle to work almost everyday. Such fantasies must be making the ride smoother for him!

It's been exactly one year since the first time one of the big-five phone manufacturers announced a fully touch-operated slider. The Samsung S8300 takes over from where the LG KF700 left off and attempts a huge leap forward.
While the LG KF700 wasn't that popular, the Samsung S8300 seems ready to go that extra length. It is the key product for Samsung for the first half of this year and we are almost as curious as you are to see if it appeals to the phone-buying public.
The Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH looks quite nice in the flesh and we have to admit that we are rather fond of the metallic frame around the display.

Precise Measures While Doing Interiors
If you failed math in school or hated triangles, this theory may go bouncers on you. I’m not giving you the Pythagorean theorem to prove but simply telling you of this handy device that could get you the perfectly angled walls and smooth looking interiors. The Red Point Measure is a digital measure that applies current laser ray measure techniques to mathematics formula of triangles by simply measuring a target from afar.
Comprising of two detective arms and a red light this is how the instrument is used:
“Just swing the two detective arms and use red light to point at the 2 ending points of target length, and then the length will be shown on the screen.”
Do away with the climbing up and down to the target, or asking someone to help you to measure big or long objects. Simply DIY!

Now LED Lights In Irons!
For ages the form factor of an iron hasn’t undergone much transformation. They only arena where you get something funky is in concepts. Here is my chance to once again slip into fantasyland and imagine that I’m using a hip-cat appliance while doing my mundane chores. Besides looking different there are only two places where this Steam Iron scores favor with me, one is the cool LED lighting that indicates the temperature in proportion with the hot red color. And the other is the soft silicone lining.
No, it’s not any revolutionary stuff, but some eye-candy in front of the damn rusty old piece I use.

Nokia 5630 XpressMusic
Nokia 5630 XpressMusic unveiled
ESPOO, Finland - Nokia has just revealed the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic handset. In the same vein as it’s 5800 XpressMusic sibling the new Nokia 5630 is far from a conventional music phone - a fully fledged member of the S60 family, this slender smartphone has a host of unlikely talents, such as being the slimmest N-Gage device yet at just 12mm thin.
Read on for details of Nokia’s newest music phone and get the full lowdown on its surprising features.
Of course, Nokia has first ensured that the new 5630 XpressMusic ticks the musical boxes. Comes with Music enabled in selected countries, it’s ready to soak up to 3,000 songs into its slender shell via a 4GB microSD memory card that comes in the box. Likewise, its tuneful talents extend to the ’say and play’ feature (first debuted on the 5320 XpressMusic last year), letting you speak the name of an artist of track to automatically play it. Plus, the Nokia 5630 comes loaded with a 3.5mm headphone connector, stereo Bluetooth, FM stereo and Internet radio to wrap up its music credentials. Now here comes the twist…
Alongside those core talents sit some unusual but welcome suspects on the features front. For starters it’s a full blown S60 device with fast HSDPA connectivity, meaning it’s primed to be loaded with apps and able to exploit many of the best Internet services out there, such as widgets (a la the 5800 and upcoming N97), Ovi Share and Nokia Messaging.
Similarly, it throws N-Gage gaming into the mix - only the second time Nokia’s premium gaming platform has been available on a non Nseries device (the 6210 just got there first). However, at just 12mm slim and weighing only 83g, this makes the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic the slimmest and lightest N-Gage gaming device to date.
Another smart addition is the home screen, which features a new Contacts Bar that has a definite widget feel to it - smartly animated, you can scroll through icons for up to 20 contacts and interact with them directly from the home screen.
It doesn’t shirk its responsibilities imaging wise, delivering digital shots via a 3.2 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 4x zoom, and recording video, both of which can be uploaded and shared online via Flickr and Share on Ovi. And this is where another of the 5630’s more subtle skills steps into the limelight - as well as being HSDPA enabled, it’s also HSUPA enabled, meaning it can upload data over your network at speeds of up to 2mbps (following in the footsteps of the 6260 slide, Nokia’s first HSUPA phone last November) and making video and photo sharing on the move a significantly faster and more engaging option.
Key Features
2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 2100 / 900
Weight: 83 g

Acer DX650
Acer readies dual-side, dual-cam touch phones
Acer's smartphone plans at Mobile World Congress will involve at least two handsets, if a pair of leaks are accurate. The DX650 would be a unique dual-sided phone which, like the Samsung UpStage, puts a dedicated number pad and small screen (here an OLED) on the back to make calls easier. The Acer offering is a true smartphone with a 2.8-inch touchscreen and Windows Mobile 6.1 providing full app support on the phone's front.
Based on technology picked up with the buyout of E-TEN, the DX650 should also have GPS and a camera; 3G over HSPA and Wi-Fi are assumed, but not confirmed.
The X960 should be a more conventional 2.8-inch touchscreen phone and is known to have a fast 533MHz ARM processor as well as a front-facing camera for video calls to complement a back 3.2-megapixel shooter. It too runs Windows Mobile and is known to carry HSPA-based 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi.

Double Pane LCD Screens
Now why didn’t I think of that? Sure, there are companies working on “3D-ish” screens but the technology is ridiculously expensive. Why not take a more literal approach and layer two glass LCDs together. This creates a sense of depth when graphics are overlayed. The technology could be expanded to other devices too like interactive maps and slider mobile phones. Pipe dreams but I like the way Mac Funamizu thinks - boundless and limitless.

Slim Sexy Scanner Looks Like A Saber
Doing away with the traditional norms of a bulky scanner is the svelte scanU. This pocket-sized gadget is inherently made up of three segments: the screen, the power unit and the storage. The display screen comprises of a three-layer roll out scanning bed, where the upper and bottom layers are OLED screens (providing illumination) and the central layer features capacitive and photo sensors that capture the scanned data.
You will find a USB interface on both the rechargeable battery and the Flash based memory unit. This makes charging or transferring data quite simple and easy. Apparently you can even use it to scan and play aloud books. Next time your kid pesters you for a bedtime story, just slip the scanU into the Peter Pan book and let it tell the tale!

The Mother Of All Water Filters
The Rehydr8 is an eco-friendly water filter and chiller system that was designed to discourage the consumption of disposable water bottles and promote filtered tap water. The chiller uses the innovative technology of thermoacoustic refrigeration, using sound waves to create pressure and environmentally friendly gases to create a cool surrounding temperature. And YES this concept was actually thought out.
A pair of reusable bottles made from durable and translucent polycarbonate are supplied with the Rehydr8 appliance. Each bottle features a built-in and powerless thermometer, made from thermochromic plastic, to display the water’s temperature, making it easier to have perfectly chilled water every time.
Would you buy one? Although the thesis behind this concept is intriguing, one argues why this does any better than cartrige filters in water pitchers and even faucet attachments. Both provide quality drink water without the need for power and a minimal costs.
